Microsoft has a very useful feature which shows you the recent documents you have worked on. But it's not always useful as you must be working on some important project which you don't want to show to anyone. So you'd need to clear the history of recent documents. Here is how you can clear history on Microsoft Office:

- Open any MS office program.
- Click on the office button.
- Click on Word options
- Go to the Advanced tab
- Find the Display section. There will be an option "Show this number of recent documents", make this 0.
- Then click okay and recent history will be cleared.
- You can again make this feature useful by changing the number.
Clear history from Microsoft Office 2013:
Clearing history from Microsoft office is even easier:
- Open any MS Office program like MS Word or MS Excel
- There will be a Recent Documents list
- Right click on any of the entry and click "Clear unpinned Documents" and there you go. All the history will be cleared.
- If you want to be selective, select any of the documents and click on "Remove from list".
